Ayana B. Patrick

Ayana B. Patrick is a Detroit, native whose experience and advocacy for youth has spanned across three states and for over 15 years. From the beginning of her study of Psychology at Michigan State University, Ayana realized that her passion for education and for community would be the catalyst for career in youth development. 

With over 20 years of experience both as a youth development instructor and program site manager, she provides a diverse set of skills in youth development organizations. A driven self-starter youth development expert with experience in leadership development for out-of-school time programs, classroom management, and developing and sustaining the culture of healthy learning environments. From participants in elementary school to college bound high schoolers, she has worked in a diverse landscape of geographic, cultural, and programmatic spaces all with the goal of serving the interest and future of young people.

Responsible for assisting in curriculum development for workshops and classroom programs. Development included assisting in the research of youth development trends, the innovation of programs, and implementation of lesson plans and workshops for participants. Workshops focus includes employability, self esteem and art expression. Creates multimedia lesson plans using technology, video and music for participants.
