What if there was no shame in our nude bodies and our naked truths?
How often do we criticize our bodies; wish for them to change or work for them to be more ideal? For Goldie Patrick, most of her life she has struggled with her own body image. Most recently she has literally lived uncomfortable in her own skin. How would she ever grow to destroy negative images of herself and embrace herself?
Goldie, recognized a similar shame and reluctance lingering in her poetry; a resistance to be naked on the page fear of judgement. Body Language is a photography exhibit featuring the work of photographer, Dave L. McDuffie; known for his keen ability and impeccable job of showing his subjects from a divine perspective. Through his lens, and the poetry of Goldie Patrick, the audience is taken on a provacative journey through body image, sensuality and self-acceptance.
